What A Pile Of Dung!

Now, don't you wish we had taken the moral high ground and bowed out of the League Cup after the Millwall debacle? No risk then of massive fines and orders to play games behind closed doors. Simple, direct, praiseworthy.

But no, I was howled down when I suggested this at the time by short sighted idiots who were desperate to cling hold of our place in a no mark competition, convinced, for some reason, that we stood a chance of winning a pot that Arsenal let their U15s piss in because, in Wenger's view, it isn't worthy of the efforts of anybody old enough to have sex and buy cigarettes.

Now we are out of the cup, defeated by the mighty Bolton Wanderers and, worse still, our players have completed another 120 minute marathon. Tomkins, Hines and co have suffered another dispiriting defeat and another game has passed without a victory. This is becoming a VERY dangerous habit.

Parker and Ilunga looked "out on their feet" on Saturday, God knows how they are feeling now. This was all so stupidly unnecessary. If only Duxbury had had the balls to do the decent thing within 24 hours of the Millwall game as I suggested. "We apologise and have resigned our place in the cup to show that there is no place in the game for this mindless thuggery." But no, we clung on, desperately, dishonourably, disgracefully in my opinion. And tonight we got what we had coming to us because we lacked the moral fibre to do what was right.

We are in trouble guys, big, big, big trouble.

Short sighted idiots?
Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones mate.
How, can I ask, would bowing out with 'dignity' be any better than this?
No one is calling for Man United to bow out of the title race with dignity because some twat ran on the pitch at the weekend.

What last night exposed is a serious lack of fitness, composure in goal and an extreme naivety tactically which is more of a concern than the fact that N'Gala had a shocker, Hines couldn't score and Noble seemed to be MIA.

We need to concentrate on the league and take it seriously not use it as a youth experiment.
We need Collison, Behrami, Jiminez, Stanislas, Gabbidon, Upson, even Boa Morte back as soon as possible.

I don't want to knee jerk, but I share your worry for what it's worth.

We have been playing shite recently thats all

yes we are in trouble and only by sorting the ownership problems will solve this problem. we need investment in the team as we have such a small squad and half of them are kids. as for players being tired already, did they not do pre season training?? players should now be coming to peak match fitness.
as for the league cup debacle I agree we should have pulled out, but the football league should also have taken action quickly. it should be over and done with by now.

Ok, so if we had held onto our lead and won the game what type of reaction would you have written. It was unfortunate that we didn't defend well enough for last corner, and perhps silly to concede so many corners, but at 2-1up, Diamanti hit the bar which would have made it 2-2, then what would have happened?. I think you mentioning Duxbury at the end is pathetic, god knows what you would have written had we been chucked out of the competition by the FA.
